Maria Tildon Biography
Maria Harris Tildon is Senior Vice President for Public Policy and Community Affairs for CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield. She is responsible for managing all matters related to public policy, government relations, external and internal communications, strategic medical communications and community outreach and giving. Prior to joining CareFirst, Ms. Tildon was Senior Vice President for External Affairs for The Century Council, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fighting underage drinking and drunk driving. Ms. Tildon is a member of the Maryland and District of Columbia Bar Associations, and was appointed by then-Governor Martin O’Malley to the board of Trustees to the Chesapeake Employers Insurance Company and the Baltimore City Community College. She also serves on several not-for-profit boards including Healthcare for the Homeless, DC Chamber of Commerce Executive Committee and the R. Adams Cowley Shock Trauma Center.
A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Ms. Tildon graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Relations from Boston University and received her Juris Doctorate degree from American University’s Washington College of Law.
