CareFirst, Corrigan Sports Partner To Provide Free Photos To Racers In Frederick, Baltimore Runs

Baltimore, MD (May 02, 2018) - CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) announced today every runner participating in this year’s Frederick Running Festival, Baltimore 10-Miler, and Baltimore Running Festival may receive free professional race photos compliments of the region’s largest health insurer.

Using Pic2Go technology, runners can choose to have photos uploaded to their Facebook accounts on race day during any of the three events organized by Baltimore’s Corrigan Sports Enterprises (CSE). Additionally, runners will be able to download high-resolution photos to their email accounts after the race.

“CareFirst is excited to again partner with CSE to offer this fun, interactive service to racers participating in the Baltimore Running Festival and extend Pic2Go technology to athletes participating in additional races, including the Frederick Running Festival and the Baltimore 10-Miler,” said Jonathan Kromm, Vice President of Market Research and Product Development at CareFirst.

The 2017 Baltimore Running Festival marked the first partnership between CareFirst and CSE to provide free photos to runners using Pic2Go technology. Nearly 5,000 runners chose to have more than 105,550 photos uploaded to their Facebook accounts on race day.

“A runner’s accomplishment is not ‘official’ until it’s captured and shared on social media,” said Lee Corrigan, President of CSE. “We had tremendous engagement with our CareFirst race day photos last year, and we anticipate even greater participation this year as social media increasingly becomes such a big part of our lives and how we share our goals with friends and family.”

Runners can register for the free photo service during race week. The Frederick Running Festival will take place Saturday, May 5, and Sunday, May 6. The Baltimore 10-Miler is scheduled for Saturday, June 2. The Baltimore Running Festival will take place Saturday, Oct. 20.

The Frederick and Baltimore events feature distances for runners of all ages and abilities, including a full marathon, half marathon, four-person team relay, 5K and Kids Fun Run.
