D.C. Changemakers Shine at CareFirst’s Nonprofit Showcase

CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst) hosted its first D.C. Nonprofit Showcase at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Library, welcoming more than 100 attendees. The event brought together nonprofit leaders, elected officials and community advocates to spotlight 21 of CareFirst’s 300+ local partners. These organizations drive impact across health, housing, education, food access and more—each helping build a healthier Washington, D.C.

CareFirst’s commitment to the District goes beyond funding. As a not-for-profit healthcare leader, we collaborate with nonprofits, public agencies and community leaders to reduce health disparities and expand access to care. We reinvest every dollar earned into community initiatives that remove barriers to better health—long before anyone enters a doctor’s office.

This year’s showcase highlighted the diversity and innovation of our partners. From fighting food insecurity and promoting wellness to advancing behavioral health and workforce development, these changemakers lead the way in improving community health. Attendees connected with nonprofits, explored their programs and discovered ways to get involved.

Real progress starts with listening. At CareFirst, we elevate the voices of our partners and the communities they serve. The D.C. Nonprofit Showcase reflects our ongoing commitment to stand beside local organizations, amplify their impact and invest in solutions shaped by those who know our neighborhoods best.

We thank every nonprofit that joined us and look forward to future events that strengthen our community. Learn how to get involved with these organizations by visiting their websites:
