In the Spotlight: Jeanine Finch

At CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst), we prioritize connections with our community to ensure collaboration that furthers health equity and advances affordable, accessible, quality care for all. One of the incredible leaders who works tirelessly to make those connections is Jeanine Finch, an External Affairs Manager at our organization who works with and for the Northern Virginia region.

We congratulate Jeanine on being recognized by the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce as a 40 Under 40 award recipient who has made a powerful impact on the thriving business community in Alexandria, Virginia. Honorees of this award come from all industries and backgrounds, and Jeanine is recognized for her tireless commitment to advancing a thriving Alexandria community.

She began her career in the Fairfax County Government as an Eligibility Worker for the Department of Family Services, where she supported children, adults and families through advocacy and services. Jeanine then moved to multiple roles in the Arlington County Government where she connected with stakeholders across the county to understand the unique needs of the community and find ways to meet those needs through collaboration. In her position at CareFirst, Jeanine harnesses the wealth of her professional insight and personal encounters to forge fruitful partnerships and cultivate enduring connections on behalf of the organization. She works with stakeholders to create positive relationships and actively promotes diversity, equity and inclusion in every aspect of community engagement. She collaborates closely with our organization and external partners to navigate complex political, policy and social issues within the area and strengthen relationships so that all entities in the community can work together to best serve the Northern Virginia region.

Her volunteer efforts span many organizations and causes, each reflecting her unwavering dedication to making a tangible difference in the lives of others.

As Secretary of the Board for PathForward, Jeanine plays a pivotal role in assisting community members grappling with homelessness, facilitating pathways to stable housing and a brighter future. Simultaneously, her involvement with the event committee for Aspire! Afterschool Learning underscores her commitment to empowering historically underserved youth. By spearheading initiatives to expand learning opportunities through afterschool and summer programs, Jeanine aims to nurture the potential of young individuals, fostering connections between families, schools and communities.

In recognition of her passion for advocating for women's rights and empowerment, Jeanine was appointed to serve on the Commission on the Status of Women for Arlington County. Since 2023, she has chaired the esteemed Annual Women of Vision event, amplifying the voices and achievements of women within the community.

Beyond these roles, Jeanine actively contributes to various initiatives focused on health, environmental sustainability and community engagement.
