Jim Leleszi serves as the Executive Vice President of the Enterprise Product & Specialty Division at CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield (CareFirst), one of the nation’s largest not-for-profit healthcare organizations, reporting to the CEO. His division encompasses Product, Specialty Markets and Pharmacy and is accountable for the overall performance of a growing portfolio of medical, pharmacy and diversified business offerings.

During 2023, Jim was the interim lead of the Core Markets & Diversified Solutions Division. His responsibilities included strategy and business development for all Commercial customer segments, ranging from individual & small groups to the largest and most complex local and national employers. During his tenure at CareFirst, Jim’s roles have supported Pharmacy, Dental, Vision, Diversified Benefits, Stop Loss, Wellness and Consumer Fund Administration. Jim joined the company in July 2016 as the Vice President of Large Group Sales and Client Management, where he oversaw the largest year-over-year growth in enrollment (12%) for that business segment between 2017 and 2018.

Jim came to CareFirst with over 18 years of diverse healthcare experience. Prior to CareFirst, Jim held various sales and leadership positions responsible for value consulting and business development within the population health platform, clinical engagement technology and onsite clinic industries.

Jim also accrued experience in the pharmacy benefits space, working at Walgreens in multiple sales and account management roles targeting the employer market. During his tenure at Walgreens, Jim was responsible for growing their broad portfolio of services, which included worksite clinics and wellness programs, PBM services, infusion, immunizations, health screenings and other services offered across their retail pharmacy network.

Before joining Walgreens, Jim was the Head of Retiree Solutions for National Accounts at Aetna. Prior to joining Aetna, Jim held several positions at CIGNA Healthcare within their product development, underwriting and National Accounts departments and was also a graduate of CIGNA’s MBA rotational leadership development program.

Jim earned his Bachelor of Arts degree from Johns Hopkins University and Master’s in Health Administration from the Virginia Commonwealth University.
